I have been using a HSS black oxide drill for a number of holes in Al. It is surprising how fast those drills get dull. I've switched to these cobalt steel bits and they are lasting quite a bit longer. The short length makes it easier to properly and precisely locate the holes. The 12 pack is good for small drills, as they usually aren't worth trying to sharpen. As soon as it feels dull, swap to a fresh one.
