I've had the pen for 20 years and finally broke it accidentally. Luckily it's a classic and still in production. Based on my past experience with the pen I give it the highest recommendation. It's classic style is timeless. The writing feel is excellent it just glides across the paper. You will be happy with this pen. It also makes an excellent gift.Elegant pen that looks great. Fits nicely in your hand. I have been a big fan of Waterman pens for years and this pen is one of the best. With excellent ink flow, it makes writing easy.I really wanted to like this pen. I never had a nice pen like this before, except a couple of Crosses that were nice but too thin for me. I researched a lot of other pens before deciding on this one. This IS a nice pen, and the other good comments about it are true. There are three things I personally don't like about this pen, so I ended up deducting three stars. First, it's heavy on both ends and light in the middle, so it feels kind of top-heavy when you write, and sort of wants to flop out of your hand. Second, the twisting action when opening & closing the point feels a little cheap, you can feel and almost hear the spring winding against the refill inside the barrel. Third, the ink occasionally skips; write for a minute and put it down, pick it up again a minute later and nothing but scratching the paper (and yes, it came with a genuine Waterman Paris refill). It IS a nice pen, and I enjoy writing with it, but perhaps my expectations were too high because of the price. I was torn between giving it two stars or three, but finally decided on two because this pen it's performance fell short of my expectations and it's NOT CHEAP, in fact there are cheapo pens I'd rather write with. Your mileage may vary, many of you obviously love it, and that's great! Write often, keep the art alive!Update after using this pen for five years: I am downgrading my rating from two stars down to one star. The main reason is this $100 pen fails to write so often, I write for a bit, set it down, pick it back up, and it doesn't write, just scratches the paper, and I have to doodle around on a separate scratch sheet to get it writing again. Unforgivable. Also, if you hold one end and jiggle the pen, the other end flops audibly around, no way for a $100 pen to act, the ends don't fit tightly together. This might be an OK $25 pen, for $100 look elsewhere. When the refill runs dry I'm pitching the darn thing, that's how little I like it and disappointed I am with it. For 13 years in the military, they fit in my BDU pocket and then for 26 years in private practice.I received a black Waterman pen as a gift many years ago as a groomsman's gift but never used it. After I retired, I open the box and tried it. To my amazement, I loved the feel. I wanted a nicer look at an affordable price and decided on the Marine Amber.It is gorgeous with changing highlights as you move the pen. I wish Waterman made a fine point though.I prefer my rollerball waterman over this ballpoint, but it’s a nice weight for me and writes well. Waterman always pays attention to detail, and it shows in this affordable work of art.Excellent pen...good weight and balance, and the ink is nearly flawless.Didn’t have the weight that my previous Waterman had, but it writes well.Having had a very good Waterman for 12 years (and then I lost it), I noticed that the twist mechanism appears to be much looser on this Waterman pen. I wonder if it will last longer or whether the mechanism will wear out. Perhaps Waterman made adjustments, (or perhaps it was used previously, say, as a display pen, given it was bought from a stationery shop, albeit through Amazon). One will never know these things short of clarifying with the manufacturer. Other than the twist, it looks super brilliant, not too much weight and writes very well. As with most pens in this price bracket it came with a somewhat huge presentation box along with a 3-year warranty found underneath the lower side of the box. Delivery was free, very fast and very well packaged with bubble wrap. Overall, I would very much recommend this Waterman pen but as you are well aware, it's best to shop around as the retail price do vary.Never arrived, kept receiving messages saying it's on its way but nothing. Again, could not contact anyone. No money was taken for the pen so probably a blip in the system. However, on getting the pen from a pen shop its very nice.I was looking for something different to my normal black or Chrome pens and this fits the bill. I've only recently started using Waterman pens so was unsure what this would be like. It's a lovely smooth writer along with its shape I couldn't be happier.I really love this pen it is well weighted and writes beautifully. The quality is excellent although it is a bit pricey.I pondered for a long while before I decided which pen to buy but am delighted I chose this one. If you are looking for a biro you won’t be disappointed if you choose this one.A beautiful pen, which is sure to impress anybody who sees me using it. This is the most expensive pen I have ever purchased, but still was a great saving over the RRP. Really good to hold and use, and makes me want to write with it more often. It has a lovely weight to it, and screams class with the colour and gold coloured fittings. Would have preferred the option of it coming with black refill, but this is a very minor grumble. So, would thoroughly recommend for those who want a really special pen.
